About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The ANZIAM Journal publishes refereed articles in any field of applied mathematics and related mathematical sciences. Novel applications of mathematics in real situations are especially welcome. All articles should include some indication of the applicability, and an introduction that can be understood by non-specialist readers from the whole mathematical community.

The journal of the Australian Mathematical Society began publication in 1959, and from 1975 appears in two series, Series A (Pure Mathematics and Statistics) and Series B (Applied Mathematics). Series B was renamed ANZIAM Journal in 2001 and is published in four quarterly parts and from 1997 in a fifth electronic-only supplement. Information about other publications of the Society may be found at the Society's web site.

We are registered with the Directory of open access journals, reviewed by MathSciNet, and indexed by Scopus and Google Scholar.

Peer Review Process

All articles are peer reviewed by two or three international experts. Submitted articles are evaluated on the criteria of original research, good quality, and written in a style suitable for publication in this Journal. Reviews may take significant time but we seek reviews within 8 weeks. The reviewers are selected by searching the world for researchers with appropriate expertise.

Publication Frequency

Articles for the Electronic Supplement are published electronically as soon as they are ready and are freely available for all to read. Articles for the Printed Issues are published one issue at a time: both electronically and in print. Subscription controls access to the Printed parts.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to all content published here (although articles published by CUP have restricted access) on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
