On the optimal inner tube shape for an ultrasonic nebulizer
AbstractWe investigate the effect of inner tube shape on the flux of medicine in a Sheiman ultrasonic nebulizer. Using a simple model for the flow of the aerosol up through the inner tube, we consider the variation in flux for cylinders of varying cross-section. The optimal shape is found to be proportional to the shape of the inner jet for any assumed pressure difference between the upper and lower chambers of the nebulizer.
